CD*NY holds American contra dances from mid-September through June on Saturday nights, 8:00-11:00pm. There is also one dance in July and one in August.
A beginners' workshop is usually held at 7:30pm. Admission is $10 for members and full-time students with ID, and $14 for non-members.
There is always a live band and a caller who teaches the dances. The last dance of the evening is often a challenging one for advanced dancers.
Please wear shoes with clean, soft soles -- ideally shoes that have not been worn outside.
Contributions to refreshments at the break are welcome. Please bring a snack to share with your fellow dancers.
