Volunteer and Get in Free!
All our dances are run by
volunteers. Help run a dance by working
the door, setting up refreshments, or joining the sound crew. You’ll have the satisfaction of being part of
the CDNY team and you’ll get free admission.
How do I get started?
1. Decide whether you want to volunteer part
time or full time. Seasons are September–January and February–June,
and dances are held Tuesdays (English Country) and Saturdays (Contra).
Part-Time
Volunteers (fewer than 8 dances per season) get the
following benefits:
Sound, refreshments: Get
FREE admission to the dance you
work.
Door:
Get FREE admission to the dance
you work and one future dance (must be a member).
Full-Time Volunteers (members of CD*NY who volunteer 8 or more dances per season):
Get FREE
admission to all regular dances (Tuesday and Saturday nights) for the
entire season.
2. Complete the form below and submit it at the door during a dance, or click on “General information” on the Contact CD*NY webpage to send us an e-mail. Volunteering helps build
community. Other ways you can
participate in our community of dancers are by donating refreshments; posting
flyers in your neighborhood, school or workplace; dancing with a newcomer; joining
the beginners’ workshops; helping decorate the hall for a special event;
sponsoring a dance; writing an article for Stepnotes;
and donating money or your talents. Speak to the dance coordinator if you
would like more information about these or other ways to help.
